Halloween 2013

We had a fun-filled "holiday" today. This shirt says it all!

My childhood friend, Christina, and her three boys came over and we had a small party. I made cookies and the kids decorated them.

Afterwards, the kids and I loaded up and headed to the mall for trick-or-treating.  Bobby was loving his freedom! I had to chase him out of a couple stores. He saw a machine full of dinosaurs and was mesmerized.

I had to laugh because the teen girls were saying he was adorable. Little dude is already a chick magnet.

Elmo fell asleep on the way to the mall and was grumpy for the first 20 minutes.

It rained all day so this was perfect for these little babies. Well, it would've been, but when we got there we found out the event was from 4-5pm and not 4-8pm as the mall had advertised. I saw a lot of kids in costumes with empty buckets. Some were crying, too.  Thankfully, the A&W employee felt bad for my babies and he gave them both a handful of candy and two plastic curly straws. They were thrilled! Grandma also spoiled them with ice cream, french fries, and pop.

Elmo got into Grandma's purse when she thought we weren't paying attention.

Bellie walked next to Bobby. I thought it was cute and then realized they were arguing over holding the buckets of candy.

Practicing cheerleading moves.

Ilya is 2 Months Old!

Baby Ilya is now 2 months old. Time flies! Here are her stats:
  • She's 9lbs 2oz (15%)
  • She's 22 1/4 inches long (47%)
  • She's wearing NB and 0-3 size clothes and NB/Size 1 diapers
  • She's exclusively nursing
  • She is up 1-4 times a night. Sunday night, the 27th, she slept six hours!
  • She loves to be swaddled.
  • She is starting to smile and coo more frequently.
  • She has cradle cap/eczema so we've been having to put alot of lotion and baby oil on her poor, dry skin.
  • She is generally a very content and easy baby.
  • She is more alert and likes to watch her siblings play.

I like looking back at Isabelle's monthly pictures to see how much the two girls look alike.

Big sister needed her picture with the headband, too.

Smile, Baby!

Ilya went to church for the first time when she was just over six weeks old. She wore a yellow dress and a duck hat since I couldn't find her yellow hairpiece. She seems to have a lot of duck items. She's too cute!

Such a pretty baby. I'm glad she's still pretty little. Hard to believe she's almost 8 weeks old already.

My sleeping beauties...

Ilya wakes up anywhere from one to four times a night. Most times I have a hard time staying awake for the hour she's up each time, so to make it easier for me I browse Pinterest (and Craigslist, too). I found a recipe for Tuscan Chicken Soup and made it last week. Bob said it was fantastic. That's saying something. Check out my Pinterest page for the recipe.

My mom watched the kids while we went to Life Group last week. She sent me this picture of Bobby. He's so cute.

Bellie makes sure Ilya is taken care of. She's such a great helper. She makes sure Ilya has her pacifier or Elmo (or another doll) if she's crying. She'll say "don't cry, Ilya, Iba's right here. Iba's right here."

One night Bobby wouldn't fall asleep so I brought him downstairs for awhile. He grabbed Ilya's hand and held it for a few minutes. He's really liking her. He says "where'd Ilya go, hmm?"

Sunday afternoon football and kid watching.

Got this costume for $4 at a huge Mom2mom sale at the Ingham County Fairgrounds. I'd been wanting to find one for the kids to have for dress up, etc.

Ilya first smiled on Friday, October 18th. Bob's dad had stopped by and was holding her and had just asked if she had started smiling yet. I said no and within seconds she smiled widely at him!!!! It just proves that all my kids like him more than me. Haha! I've been trying every day to get her to do it again. I've captured a few good ones but nothing like that first one. I'll keep trying though!
