Ilya is 5 Months

Baby Sweetie, Ilya Sue, is 5 months old! Here are a few things to remember about her:

• She is 11 lbs 6 oz and in the third percentile. This means we are doing a little supplementing because she's small.
• She's wearing size 3-6 months clothes and is still in size 1 diaper.
• Her hair is starting to lighten to blonde!
• She still loves to swaddle.
• She likes to sit up and look around. She's very curious about what is happening around her.
• She smiles and coos all the time.
• She wants to be held a lot more and gets mad quickly if I put her down when she doesn't want to be put down!
• She doesn't have a set routine or number of naps, but she primarily sleeps most of the morning and catnaps in the afternoon. She is fussy around dinner time and by 8pm she is ready to call it a day! She sleeps through the night a couple times a week.

We love her so much and are so grateful God has placed her in our family! We also love to kiss her!

Happy Birthday, III

Today, my greatest friend turned 34 years old! We got started with the partying a little early. Tuesday night we went out to dinner at Joe's Gizzard City in Potterville. This little place is a couple miles from our house and was once featured on "Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives." They specialize in deep fried foods, and the show's host, Guy Fieri, suggested they deep fry the entire burger with the bun. Genius.

We ordered the dessert sampler.....Oreos, nutty buddies, cookie dough, cheesecake, elephant ears...all deep fried.

Today I made Bob's birthday cake...aka lemon bars. I'll need better recipe next time. As for the candles...yes, I'm resourceful.

I also made General Tsao's Chicken for dinner for him. This is absolutely the most challenging cooking experiment I've ever taken on and thankfully it worked!

Sue and I and the kids pulled off a great surprise, too! We showed up at Bob's work with treats for him!

It was such a fun day celebrating my favorite person whom I love!

January Fun

I love watching Isabelle grow. One of my favorite things to see is how she plays with her dolls. She is very sweet and motherly with them and likes to include them whenever she can. This means they sit at the table for meals a lot these days.

Speaking of tables, Isabelle's birthday present from my mom was a princess table and two chairs. They have come in very handy this week! The kids use them for meals, pretend tea parties and for climbing and jumping off.

I decided to try to get the living room and dining room vacuumed while they ate their lunch sitting at their table. They decided to help me out by putting their dishes in the sink. On a side note, I've gotten good at jumping over gates, taking pictures, and getting after my kids all at the same time! Multi tasking at its finest.

We went to Walmart the other night as a family. The kids and I haven't been taking many trips to the store lately for a few reasons. One being I like to buy things. Two being I have two loud and busy toddlers. I've let Isabelle have a little freedom the last few times we've been out. She is very good at shopping. I can tell because there are typically 25 items in my cart that I didn't put in there. She's a natural. Sometimes even she knows she has taken it too far. The scrubbing bubbles just did her in. She put herself in time out! I had to take a picture because I'm sure that a 3 year old has never done this before. I told her she can put herself in time out whenever she wants to. Just kidding.

I came across a resume while I was working of a person that worked at this car dealership. Very cool name!

These three and their noodles. See my twitter account for a pretty funny video of them eating.

Little buddy is growing more fond of his baby sister every day. In fact, for a few weeks he said his name was Ilya when I asked him. His second answer was James. Third was Bob. Now he's down to just Bob.

He's a Bob who likes da da da.... or special treats (birthday cake) as I understand him to say.

I love this tiny little girl. I asked the kids who wanted to take a picture with Ilya. I didn't quite have those poses in mind.

Another Year Older

January is a month full of birthdays for our family. Mine happened to be yesterday and it was a really great day! I should say, it was only my birthday, but a cute little girl in my family was determined that I share it with her. When you have a house full of toddlers, "sharing" is of utmost importance.

My dad brought over a cake, a bag of chocolate and a pretty rose plant.

Of course, there were a few horsey rides before he left.

My mother-in-law came over for a few hours to watch the babies so I could go meet Bob for coffee at our favorite coffee shop.

Bob also surprised me with these beauties!

Later in the evening, my mom came over for my birthday dinner. Bob made delicious tacos and even washed the dishes and cleaned the kitchen afterwards!

It was such a nice, relaxing day and I was blessed by all the texts, emails and phone calls from my family and friends! Thank God for another year of life, even if I am officially closer to my forties than my thirties, which my mom pointed out. Bless her.
