Today has been downright exhausting. Yesterday afternoon, I took Isabelle to the doctor for her 6 month check-up. (Yes, she's almost 8 months. I happened to have missed her 6 month appointment.) She was given 5 vaccinations, and we have seen the after-effects royally today. Poor sweetie has had a fever and just been downright miserable today. I know that these are common side-effects that will subside within the next few days. To be honest, I think these side-effects are rather mild compared to the actual viruses themselves. Working in a daycare for more than 10 years, I remember having kids sick with rotovirus, and croup and flu and all sorts of other stuff, and that was pretty sad to watch those kids suffer through. But, I guess that either way, vaccine or not, kids are going to experience their fair shares of sicknesses and fevers, etc. Here's to hoping that tomorrow is a better day for our baby sweetie.
With all Isababy fever stuff aside, we have had a great holiday weekend. BCIII was able to come home from work early on Friday afternoon (hallelujah!) and we decided to go grocery shopping and then out to a local sport's club called Lindell's AC to watch the Michigan State Spartan Football season opening game. We brought baby sweetie with us, and she was a peach. The waitresses just doted on her! She went to sleep easily and we were able to stay for almost the entire game. It was so nice to get outta the house and be with my husband doing something we actually love to do..watch football! GO GREEN!
The best part of the weekend so far though has been the fact that we found out that another Carpenter baby is on its way! We're still pretty early into it, but we're excited and especially grateful to God for another gift of life!
