Community Youth Day

My sister-in-law is a Veterinarian and every year the clinic she works for has a day for families to come visit the animals. We went last year, but for some reason I don't have any pictures of it. So, this year I do.

The Mooville Ice Cream was a big hit for everyone! We noticed that the area was very quiet because everyone was eating ice cream.

The gift bag was full of lots of goodies. The crayons and coloring book came in handy because we were ready for them to sit down for a few minutes! Sue and I did a lot of chasing! (oh...and Ilya even sat upright for an extended period of time! That was the longest period so far.)

Bobby's Thomas the Train Birthday Party

Today we had our family birthday party for Bobby. It was originally scheduled for last weekend, but I postponed it because the stomach flu hit all of us and our extended families last week. Bobby loves Thomas the Train so I started looking on Pinterest a few months ago for ideas. I found this snack train idea and thought it'd be perfect. I liked how it turned out. It was also on the kids level so they wouldn't stay out of it! The Oreos were gone almost before the party started and I had opened them about 10 minutes before.

I had wanted to have the party outside, but it was rainy and somewhat chilly. Last weekend would've been perfect. It still worked out fine though. I knew we were going to have lots of kids, so I used our table to seat the high chairs and I put Thomas trains on the table for the kids to play with. 

I made cupcakes, cherry pie and a raspberry dessert I saw on an episode of KLG and Hoda at 3am while I was up with Isabelle (for the 15th night in a row). I wanted to get some printable Thomas party decorations off Etsy, but refuse to pay $20 for one sheet, so I made my own. Then I went to print them and ran out of ink. So, the only thing I could print was the back part of Bobby's cupcake toppers with his name on it. Blast. 

My MIL bought some crafts for my kids to do, so I used them for all the kids and they came in so handy! 

It was so great to have my nieces and nephews at the party. This is my nephew Joshua. 

It was a fun day. Thankfully I have a great little helper who helped with the cleanup!

Isabelle-isms

Bellie is growing so quickly. I wanted to jot down a few things to remember about her. I really enjoy this stage because she's learning so many new things and saying some of the funniest things.

She loves Spider-man! My friend, Christina, has three sons and her younger two love Superheroes. So, when they visit, we often watch some sort of superhero show. I didn't know Isabelle was paying attention to them actually. She's been so interested in princesses lately, that I find it hilarious that she even chooses Spider-man over princesses. She has been battling a bad stomach bug the last two weeks, so one night I took her out to McDonald's and she was thrilled to get a Spider-man happy meal.

Uncle Jim and his family went to Florida recently, and he waited in line so he could get this picture for her! Just another reason the Hudsons are the coolest people ever! (Isabelle is seeing this picture again and currently going crazy!)

Bellie had her 4th round of the stomach flu this past Sunday, so she and I were up half the night and stayed home from church that morning. We slept until 11am and went for a walk once she was feeling a little better.

I made a cake for Bobby's birthday and this little girl wouldn't stay out of it! Several times I caught her up on the counter or hiding behind the dishwasher eating away at it.

Sunday night, we went to a local school so Bob and my brothers-in-law could get some exercise. Becky and I walked the track with the kids. Isabelle had been playing with a sock at our house and I let her bring it with us to the track. I hadn't been paying attention to what she had been stuffing in the sock, so as we were walking, I told her to show Aunt Becky and me what was in there.

There was a wipe, train track, fork, two pairs of panties and some play dough. Ah, three year olds. They are quite entertaining!

Lastly, here are a few Isabelle quotes that I've been jotting down. (I may have already posted about this, I can't remember....)

• When we were driving one night she said, "Mommy, turn on the light, I can't see the trees!"
• She was coloring and a crayon rolled away from her on the table...."Crayon, don't run away from Isabelle!"
• I gave Bobby a special treat and she told him "Hurry up before Isabelle eats it."
• While I was giving Bobby a haircut she was saying "Bobby, you don't have any hair left!"
• She was in her carseat and said "My foot is dizzy. I want to take off my boots."
• We have been praying for her tummy the last few days and today she said "Mommy, I want to pray for my tongue. I just bite it."

Bobby is 2!

Bobby turned two on Thursday, May 8th. Here are a few things to remember about him at this age. 

He weighs just under 30 pounds and wears size 4 diaper and size 24 months clothes.

He is a picky eater! He doesn't like meat very much, but will eat it occasionally. He likes oatmeal for breakfast every morning. He likes salad with dressing. He likes pizza. He likes treats. That's about all I've figured out. 

He loves his sisters very much! They both love him, too. Isabelle refers to him as "my Bobby". They fight a lot, too, but they are always keeping tabs on each other. He calls her "Bababelle". He's very sweet with "eeya".

He loves Thomas ("Tah-nah") the Train, but prefers only one or two certain episodes. He's afraid of several other episodes, especially the ones that feature a rap song. He runs screaming from the room. 

He loves Lucy, our dog. He calls her "Whoo". I figured out he calls her that because when I whistle for her, that's what he thinks I'm saying. "Whoo-ooo, 'mon-- Lucy, come here".

 

He says several words. Too many to count. Every day he says something new. He loves to sing. He often sings himself to sleep. He knows several songs, and recently started singing Isabelle's princess songs. Poor kid.

 

 

He is crazy about his aunts and uncles, especially his uncles. I hear him often pretend that he's talking to them on the phone. 

 

He knows the tune to the ABC song, but that's about it. He can count to ten, although he prefers to skip a few numbers. His favorite word is "no."

 

He is Daddy's boy! When Daddy is around, he doesn't need Mom! He also likes to make us laugh.

He is a silly boy!

 

 

We are so thankful that God gave him life and added him to our family two years ago.
