Randoms

40 weeks is just around the corner and I have a feeling this little boy plans to use all his time up. He's already showing signs that he's meant to follow after his namesakes, as in "I'll arrive when I dadgum please". HA! (I love him already!)

Yesterday, we enjoyed a nice time of shopping together with Grandma Susie. Isabelle is getting so independent. She loved just walking around and playing. We took her to a Toys R Us store and she had a ball. Now's the perfect time to do things like that cause she's too young to ask for everything in the store.

I can tell she's getting taller, because she can now reach things off the table. A few days ago, she grabbed the bucket of raisins and before I knew it, had twenty of them in her mouth at once. Geez!

She also now likes to get things out of the garbage! UGH! This particular day I think she had a hard time believing the goldfish were gone.
She loves playing with her toys.

I borrowed my friend Michelle's exercise ball in hopes of helping get labor going, and every time I sit on it, Isabelle has to get her ball and sit on hers, too. So, usually we sit and hold hands and have a fun time together.

We've had a slight setback with her sleeping through the night. Well, we the parents have stuck to our guns, and haven't gone in there. Yay, us! But, for the last 3 nights she's been waking up around 3 or 4 and crying. Usually she cries for about 15 minutes, but is quiet and has gone back to sleep after awhile. This morning, she woke at 4, and cried on and off for 15 minutes, then was quiet. She didn't go back to sleep until 5, but then woke back up at 5:30. By then, I figured I'd just go get her. We laid back down on the couch and she slept til 7:30. At least I didn't bring her back into my bed, though, right?! haha. She's still not taking naps in her crib. She usually sleeps in her carseat, and then when she wakes up, she heads right up the stairs to her room to play. This day, she knew there was a ball under her crib, so she was trying to get it. And, yes, she was still in her jammies in the afternoon. It was a Monday! ha

She got her first boo boo this week. I was letting her play in the cupboards and she got ahold of the blade for the hand mixer. UGH! It was just a small cut, and I think I put no fewer than 8 bandaids on her little finger. Yeah, she bit every one of them off.

She's been a big helper to me lately. Whether it's helping me with groceries, sweeping the floor, or folding laundry, I love this girl!

Well, that's about all that's going on this week. Hopefully, this baby will arrive very soon.

Helping or Just Playing...hmm..

Purple Sweetie

It's been months since Isabelle has worn a headband in her hair, so I thought I would try to get her to wear one this week so I could get a few pictures of my purple sweetie. It went exactly as I figured it would. I had the bright idea of trying to find something that would distract her so she'd stand still for a second so I could get a quick snap. Well, in searching through the drawer, the only thing I could find that was mildly acceptable was a pink hi-lighter. Yeah, that worked.

Oh well, maybe next time.

Office Party!

Update:
His coworkers were extremely kind and chipped in to get us a gift card to Babies R Us! Also, one of his coworkers brought homemade tiramisu that his mother-in-law made for the potluck. OH MY WORD! This is seriously the BEST I have ever tasted! It's amazing! And, I may even get the recipe! I'm dying here!

When Bob got to work this morning (at 5:00am--because he's finishing up his last paper for his bachelor's degree...woo hoo!) he was surprised to see this:

His co-workers at Quicken Loans (One Reverse Mortgage) planned a celebration and potluck to honor him on the upcoming arrival of our little buddy. Pretty cool!

38 Weeks

I'm now 38 weeks along with BCIV. I can hardly wait to hold my boy! My ultrasound confirmed that he's still a boy today (which is good, cause Bob dreamt last night that it turned out he was a "she"). So, I was glad to pass along that news. He is already measuring about 8 pounds, and everything looks good. Praise God!
I know it's hard to see, but the two pictures on the right are his face. He looks like his daddy!

His big sister has had quite the great transition to her crib. It's been a week now and we are doing great!! The first 3 nights were rough. She would wake up and cry for about an hour and then just sit straight up and stare at the door quietly. One night she was awake from 1:30am on. She didn't sleep until 8am. Bob and I were beside ourselves. We decided to purchase a video monitor after that! But, since that night, she's slept through the night. We're at 4 nights now. We put about 9 pacifiers in her bed and a couple of her favorite stuffed animals, and that seems to do the trick. She also has the projection and sound machine to help. We are so thrilled. Today she even was trying to play outside her crib and grab her pacifiers out of it and would put her shoes in there, etc. I think she's losing her fear of her crib. Awesome!
One of the most beautiful things I have seen in my life happened over the weekend. I don't know why, but to me there's nothing more precious than a dad's love for his daughter and vice versa. Bob danced with Isabelle to a song by Christina Perri, and I was a bawlin' mess. I had never heard the song before, but I don't think I'll ever forget it. So precious. Here's the song..
Speaking of singing, check out my nephew Isaiah. What a clown!
Another cool thing that happened last week was being spoiled by my friend, Michelle! She paid for me to get a haircut and bought me some really great hair products as a baby mama gift! It was so awesome! I actually had been wanting the type of shampoo and conditioner that she got after I saw that the girl from The Small Things Blog uses it. So, that was awesome!
She also watched Isabelle for me for a few hours so I could have some "me" time! It was great and so thoughtful! Apparently, Isabelle really likes Michelle's little niece....cute!

Here are a couple pictures of us on Easter, minus Bob unfortunately.

And, lastly, my niece Gabby came home from the hospital yesterday. Turns out she had viral meningitis and at one point her fever was over 105!! Poor girl! Thank God though, she is doing much better now.

Have a great week!

Pray for Gabriella

Please pray for my little 4 year old niece, Gabriella. She's in the hospital and doctors are trying to figure out why she's sick. Poor sweetie!
It's been a hospital sort of week for our loved ones! Isabelle's favorite Uncle Jim was in for a few days. We're praying for you, Uncle Jim!!

Just an update on Baby Sweetie's sleeping in her own crib. Last night we had the best possible night ever! We filled the crib with a few of her favorite stuffed animals and about 9 pacifiers. She woke up but never cried and played with her toys and then fell back to sleep and didn't wake up until 8am! Praise the Lord!! We are so thrilled! When I picked her up this morning, through her tears, she was showing me all her toys! Too cute! We love our girl!
