15 Months

Isabelle is 15 months old! It's hard to believe that she is the age I've been waiting for her to be when her brother arrives. Here are a few facts about the last month.

• She is now in a size 4 diaper and wearing size 18 month clothes and size 4 shoe. She's a tall girl! 
• She says Elmo ("memo"), mama, dada, e-i-e-i-oh, yeah, and chocolate. Oh wait, no, I say chocolate, my bad.
• She loves to kiss and pat my belly. She always says "dada?" when she pats it. Too cute! 
• She is more outgoing than ever now, and has even been letting more people hold her. The key to her heart is food. Have food? Will like you.
• She is on a pro-biotic right now to help get her little system flowing more efficiently. This seems to be helping alot!
• We've gone on a few Mommy/daughter shopping dates already! She loves her stroller thankfully.
• She takes 1-2 naps a day depending on how tired she is. We are in the process of sleep training her in her own crib. She has always had to be rocked to sleep, and literally has trouble falling asleep on her own unless she's in her carseat. Since my hands are going to be quite occupied in 3 weeks, we're working on helping her out with that. The good thing is that she only cries for an hour (heartbreaking) but the bad thing is that for the past two nights, she just sits straight up in her bed for 3-4 hours after that initial hour of crying. Bob and I don't get alot of sleep and spend alot of time praying for her, that's for sure. 
•  I got her room all put together this week and now it just feels like she's in a big girl room! (Thanks to her Grandpa Frank for the wonderful dresser and nightstand! 

We are so excited to see her transition into the big sister role in a matter of weeks, and we're so thankful that God has allowed us to be the ones to parent her and teach her how to love and honor Him. We are so blessed!

Elmo

Isabelle got a new video from Uncle Jim and Aunt Lisa for Easter. I just realized that she can now say Elmo. It comes out "memo", but still! Another trick! Too cute! Thanks, Hudsons!

Easter 2012

Easter weekend was a great one for our family. On Thursday, Bellie and I packed up and headed to Grandma Susie's house for a few days. Bellie got to hang out with her cousin and grandparents and aunts and uncles. I got to relax and hang out with my SILs. It was wonderful! Aunt Hezzie planned an Easter egg hunt for the little girls and it was so cute to watch! Thank you, Hez!!!

On Easter Sunday, we had a great church service and went out to lunch at O'Toole's restaurant. We were searching for an easter brunch, and happened to remember that O'Toole's offered one. So, we got there and found out that it was reservation only. But, the staff said we were early so if we could get in and out in 35 minutes, we were welcome to come and eat! So, we said "heck yeah!" It was delicious, too! Chocolate and caramel covered pancakes and waffles, man so much stuff, I was chowing down! The only problem was that our little Bellie decided to be a handful and be really loud and fussy, so it was probably good that we had a time limit. Bob and I said that we used to remember getting annoyed when other people's kids were naughty in the restaurant, and then we realized that yesterday we were "those people". He said someday we'll look back on this moment with fond memories, but not right now. Haha! 

We came home, took a 2.5-3 hour nap (hallelujah!) and headed over to Hudson's for a great night of fun! Did I mention they spoiled Bellie with a wonderful Easter basket full of goodies?!! You guys are the best! Thank you!

Bobby's Room Update

I got brave (or dumb) and decided to make the curtains for Bobby's room without using a pattern. Considering this is my first attempt at sewing something entirely on my own, I have to say I'm pretty proud. Just don't look too closely for mistakes! Ha! I have come to realize I'll never be a great seamstress though because I'm not a detail-oriented person. But, this'll do just fine, I think!

 

One other thing we got done this weekend was getting the letters of his name hung up.

Now all that's left is to get his Bible verse written on the wall, complete the diaper stacker and make a sling to carry him in. My MIL is making me a nursing cover, too. I'm getting so excited! Hope the next 3 and a half weeks go by quickly!
